| About Precision Controls |
Our Mission Statement:
We exist as a commercial business for the purpose of providing products and services that will truly benefit our customers, simultaneously providing a work environment that is beneficial for all our personnel, and ultimately doing everything with utmost honor and integrity in a way that pleases and glorifies our Lord and Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Precision Controls Began in 1989
Precision Controls began operating on September 18, 1989. The Silva family had moved to the Viola, Wisconsin area in June, 1989, from Massachusetts where the economy had been declining. Prior to this, Bob had been working in the HVAC&R industry since 1980. After looking at numerous HVAC controls companies throughout the state, it was decided that the family would be better off starting its own business. A lot of work was available repairing milk bulk tank refrigeration systems in the rural Viola area where the family decided to settle. That first year, Precision Controls also started doing controls and maintenance work for three school districts. In March of 1991, Precision Controls and Walker Bou-Matic, a dairy equipment dealer, joined together to form Dairyland Technologies, Inc. This partnership lasted for almost twelve years.
DDC Controls Systems First Installed in 1998
In 1998 Precision Controls installed its first DDC control system. Over the years DDC has been replacing pneumatic control systems. Precision Controls has installed DDC systems in combination with pneumatics, which seems to be the most cost effective way of controlling a building’s environmental system.
Tech-Fitt® Steam Trapping Systems First Installed in 1999
In 1999, our company was introduced to a steam trapping system developed by Steam Management Systems, called Tech-Fitt® Systems, which offers a warranty for the life of the system it serves on low pressure heating systems. The Tech-Fitt® Systems are 100% stainless steel traps that use unique, modular labyrinthine and dynamic float trapping designs, along with other energy-saving, patented technologies. The Tech-Fitt® Systems work so well that maintenance and energy usage costs went way down in the facilities where these were installed. At the request of Steam Management Systems, we took over the upper Midwest territory in the spring of 2003.
Under New Corporation in 2003
In January, 2003, Precision Controls became independent again and began doing business under a new corporate name: SILVA LLC.
American Steam Control Radiator Valves and Lynxspring DDC Web-based Controls Added as well as Thermal Solutions and Viessmann Boilers
In 2005, we were awarded Iowa and Wisconsin as a territory for American Steam Control radiator valves, and in April of 2006 we signed a contract as a dealer for Lynxspring DDC web-based controls. This spring our staff began installing boiler systems in the food processing industry, an area of significant growth which has allowed us to take on two outstanding boiler and equipment lines, Thermal Solutions and Viessmann. Our eye is constantly on the future as we look for user-friendly, energy efficient, state-of- the-art products in order to keep up with the demands of our clientele, who every year have shrinking budgets and reduced staff.
Continually Growing
Over the years Precision Controls has grown from one employee to a company of ten and is still growing. There are also several independent sales reps working with us, covering three states plus northern Illinois. Our company routinely takes care of approximately eighteen school districts and a variety of other institutional and commercial facilities. We maintain and service hot water and steam heating systems and equipment, including controls, boilers, burners, steam traps, and air conditioning as part of overall facility care. Our specialties are controls, boiler systems, and solving steam trapping problems permanently.
